Which ERP systems support a full Arabic interface for UAE staff?

Arabic ERP software in the UAE should let each user choose Arabic, with menus, field labels, buttons and dashboards mirrored right to left, while English users share the same database. Zoho, Odoo, ERPNext and Dynamics 365 all support Arabic, but custom screens, reports and add-ons often break right-to-left layout, so each custom screen needs Arabic testing before go-live.

  • Language is normally a per-user preference, so Arabic and English users see the same records.
  • Arabic searches will not find records entered only in English unless an Arabic name field is added.
  • A short glossary reviewed by Arabic-speaking staff beats machine translation for company-specific terms.
  • The FTA may request records and documents in Arabic during a review.

What Arabic ERP software in the UAE should really mean

When a UAE business asks for Arabic ERP software, the request is usually about people, not documents. A storekeeper in Mussafah, a cashier in Sharjah or an Emirati finance officer in a semi-government entity wants to log in and see the ERP in Arabic: menus, field labels, buttons, error messages and dashboards that read from right to left. Arabic ERP software UAE projects succeed when that experience feels native, not like an English screen with a few translated words.

Right-to-left (RTL) support is the technical part. When a user selects Arabic, the whole layout should mirror: the navigation moves to the right, tables start from the right, numbers and dates stay readable, and mixed Arabic and English text in the same field does not scramble. Most modern ERP platforms handle this at the framework level, but customizations, reports and add-ons often break it. That is where most of our Arabic work goes.

This page focuses on the Arabic user interface. If your main concern is Arabic tax invoices and finance documents, see our page on Arabic accounting software. For printing Arabic and English side by side on the same document, see bilingual ERP software.

What Arabic ERP software in the UAE should really mean
  • Per-user language choice, so Arabic and English users share one database
  • Mirrored right-to-left layout on web and mobile screens
  • Arabic labels for custom fields, workflows and approval messages
  • Arabic search that finds customers and items typed in Arabic script
UAE Compliance

Where Arabic matters for UAE rules and stakeholders

Arabic is the official language of the UAE. The ERP interface itself is not regulated, but several obligations and stakeholders make Arabic capability practical rather than optional. Confirm specific requirements with your legal or tax advisor.

UAE VAT records

The FTA may ask for records and documents in Arabic during a review, so staff who maintain tax records benefit from working with Arabic names and descriptions already in the system. Tax invoice language rules belong with your tax advisor.

Government and semi-government buyers

Entities that supply ministries or government-owned companies often deal with Arabic purchase orders, Arabic correspondence and Arabic-speaking approvers who need to read ERP screens directly.

Labour and HR records

Employee names in Arabic as per Emirates ID and passport, plus Arabic-speaking HR officers, are common in companies preparing WPS salary files under MOHRE rules.

Audit trail readability

When an Arabic-speaking reviewer or auditor opens the ERP, change logs and document histories should be readable in their language, not just the transaction data.

Arabic ERP interface checklist

Use this list in demos. Ask the vendor to switch a test user to Arabic and walk through these items live, not in slides.

  • Language is set per user, not per company, so mixed teams can share the same records
  • Main menu, sidebar and breadcrumbs mirror correctly to the right side
  • List views and tables align right to left and keep column totals readable
  • Dates, quantities and AED amounts display clearly next to Arabic text
  • Customer, vendor and item search works with Arabic letters, including with and without hamza or ta marbuta variants where possible
  • Custom fields, selection values and workflow stages have Arabic labels
  • Email and notification templates are available in Arabic
  • Mobile app and tablet screens follow the same RTL layout
  • Dashboards and charts render with Arabic titles and legends
  • A clear owner and process exists for translating new fields after go-live
ERP Workflow

How we set up an Arabic interface

Arabic UI work runs inside the main implementation, but it has its own steps so nothing is left half translated.

  1. 1User language audit
  2. 2Load Arabic language pack
  3. 3Translate custom terms
  4. 4RTL test of screens
  5. 5Arabic user training
  6. 6Post-go-live term review

One shared database: every step updates stock, finance and reports in real time.

How each platform handles Arabic and right-to-left

All four platforms we implement can be used in Arabic, but the depth of coverage and the effort to keep it clean differ. Check current product documentation for your exact edition.

Implementation Timeline

Typical timeline for an Arabic UI rollout

Durations are typical ranges for a mid-size rollout and depend on how many custom screens and reports you have.

Durations are typical ranges; your plan is agreed after discovery.

  1. Language discovery

    1 week

We list who will use Arabic, which apps they touch, and which custom fields, statuses and reports they need in Arabic.

  2. Base setup

    1-2 weeks

Arabic is activated, user preferences set, and standard screens checked for RTL issues on desktop and mobile.

  3. Custom term translation

    1-3 weeks

Your own terms are translated by people who know your business: item categories, workflow stages, approval messages, warehouse names.

  4. RTL testing

    1-2 weeks

Arabic users test real tasks such as creating a delivery note or approving a purchase request, and we fix layout breaks.

  5. Training and handover

    Often 1 week

Training is delivered in Arabic where needed, and we hand over a glossary so new fields get consistent Arabic labels.

FAQs

Arabic ERP software UAE: frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Our consultants are happy to help.

Ask an Expert
Can some users work in Arabic while others use English?

Yes. On Zoho, Odoo, ERPNext and Dynamics 365 the language is normally a user preference. Both groups see the same records; only the labels and layout change. Data typed by users, such as a customer name, stays in whatever language it was entered.

Does right-to-left support break custom screens?

It can. Standard screens are usually fine, but custom forms, embedded widgets and third-party add-ons are often built with left-to-right assumptions. We test every custom screen in Arabic before go-live and fix alignment, icons and fixed-width elements.

Is machine translation good enough for the Arabic interface?

For standard menus the vendor's Arabic pack is usually fine. For your own terms, such as product categories, job titles and approval messages, machine translation often produces wording your staff will not recognize. We prefer a short glossary reviewed by an Arabic-speaking member of your team.

Can Arabic users search for records typed in English?

Search matches the text stored in the record. If a customer was created only in English, an Arabic search will not find it. Many UAE companies add an Arabic name field for key customers and items so both groups can search in their own language.

Do you train users in Arabic?

We can arrange Arabic-language sessions for end users, and training material can follow the Arabic screens. Tell us early how many users need Arabic training so the sessions are planned into the timeline.

Does an Arabic interface make the ERP FTA accredited?

No. Language settings do not change accreditation status. The FTA maintains a Tax Accounting Software Register, and you should check the FTA's current register for any specific product you are considering.
