Many Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone licensees are consultancies, online businesses and holding companies with small teams spread across the UAE or overseas. We set up cloud ERP that keeps their books clean and audit-ready from anywhere.
UAQ Free Trade Zone, Umm Al Quwain, UAEOn-site and remote ERP support
ERP software for a UAQ Free Trade Zone company is usually a cloud system such as Zoho Books, Zoho One, ERPNext or Odoo, configured for UAE VAT and corporate tax, with bank feeds, mobile receipt capture and a monthly close routine a lean or remote team can follow. A finance-focused setup often goes live in two to five weeks, mostly delivered remotely.
ERP software for a UAQ Free Trade Zone company is often the first proper finance system the business has ever used. The Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone is known for cost-effective licences and flexible desk options, which attract consultancies, IT and marketing service firms, e-commerce sellers, general traders that use third-party logistics, and holding or investment companies. Founders frequently live in Dubai, Sharjah or abroad, and the finance function may be one part-time accountant or an outsourced bookkeeper.
That profile creates its own risks. Bank statements in two currencies are reconciled once a year. Invoices are made in Word. Corporate tax registration was done, but nobody is sure which revenue is qualifying income. Expenses paid on personal cards never reach the books. When the auditor or a bank asks for management accounts, the team scrambles for a week.
UAE ERP Experts works from Dubai and supports UAQ clients mostly remotely, with on-site visits when needed. For these companies we keep things simple: a cloud system such as Zoho Books, Zoho One, ERPNext or Odoo, configured for UAE VAT and corporate tax, with clear monthly routines that a small or remote team can actually follow.

A low-cost licence does not mean low compliance. These are the obligations we see small UAQ FTZ companies underestimate, and how the ERP is set up to support them. Confirm with your tax advisor for your specific situation.
All UAE free zone companies fall within the corporate tax regime under Federal Decree-Law No. 47 of 2022, even if they end up paying 0%. Registration and returns go through EmaraTax. The ERP keeps a clean general ledger, fixed asset register and related-party transaction records so the return and any transfer pricing disclosures can be prepared from system data. Our corporate tax ERP page explains the setup.
A Qualifying Free Zone Person can apply 0% to qualifying income if it meets substance, de minimis and audited financial statement conditions; consultancy services to mainland clients often do not count as qualifying. Small Business Relief, for revenue up to AED 3 million and tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2026, is not available to QFZPs. The ERP reports revenue by client location and service line so your advisor can choose the right route.
Registration is mandatory above AED 375,000 of taxable supplies in 12 months and optional from AED 187,500. Services to overseas clients may be zero-rated when conditions are met, while imported services such as software subscriptions usually trigger the reverse charge. The ERP applies tax codes per customer and supplier country and maps them to the VAT return.
Businesses with revenue below AED 50 million currently need to appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 31 March 2027, with e-invoicing mandatory from 1 July 2027 using the PINT AE format. Small companies should make sure customer TRNs and addresses are complete well before then. Check the latest Ministry of Finance and FTA guidance, as timelines have shifted before.

This is the cycle we set up for a service or online business run from several locations. Each step can be done from a laptop or phone, and the accountant reviews everything in the same system.
One shared database: every step updates stock, finance and reports in real time.
Small companies do not need dozens of modules. They need a few functions that remove manual work and make the year-end painless.
UAE and overseas bank accounts feed transactions into the ERP daily. Matching rules clear routine items automatically, so reconciliation becomes a weekly task instead of an annual project.
Founders photograph receipts on the go and the ERP reads the supplier, amount and VAT. Personal card spending is flagged for reimbursement or recorded as a director's loan.
Branded invoice templates in English and Arabic carry your TRN and required fields. Recurring retainers and payment reminders run automatically.
Your outsourced accountant, auditor and tax advisor get their own logins with the right permissions. No more emailing spreadsheets back and forth.
Holding companies can manage several subsidiaries or investment vehicles in one subscription, with intercompany loans and dividends recorded on both sides.
Cash position, receivables, monthly profit and VAT payable appear on one screen. Founders abroad can see the business without waiting for a report.
These are the licence profiles we see most often from Umm Al Quwain Free Trade Zone clients.

Still have a question? Our consultants are happy to help.
Ask an ExpertFor many UAQ FTZ service companies, a well-configured accounting system with projects and expenses is enough for the first years. Full ERP becomes worth it once you hold inventory, run several entities or have more than a handful of staff. We start with what you need and leave room to add modules.
Yes. Most UAQ Free Trade Zone setups are completed remotely through video sessions and shared workspaces. We can visit in person from our Dubai office for training or year-end support if that helps your team.
A finance-focused cloud setup with bank feeds, invoicing and VAT often takes 2-5 weeks. Bringing in prior-year data, several entities or online store integrations can extend that to around 6-10 weeks.
We can import historical bank statements and invoices into the new system and work with your accountant to reconcile them. Catch-up bookkeeping itself is usually done by your accountant, and we make sure the system is set up so it does not fall behind again.
No system can decide that for you. What it does is report revenue by activity and customer location, keep substance-related costs visible and produce financial statements for the audit. Your tax advisor uses that data to assess eligibility.
