Fleet is lightweight on its own. It becomes useful when linked to HR, Accounting and the data sources your vehicles already produce. Telematics and toll data generally arrive through file imports or custom API work.

Registration renewal in each emirate usually requires valid insurance and, depending on vehicle age and type, a passed inspection. Odoo tracks the dates so renewal is started early, not after the vehicle has been stopped.
Recovery of input VAT on motor vehicles depends on whether the vehicle is used exclusively for business. We configure tax codes per vehicle category so your advisor's decision is applied consistently.

Ask an ExpertNo. Odoo Fleet is an administrative and cost system. Live GPS location comes from a telematics provider. We can bring odometer readings or trip summaries from that provider into Odoo through imports or an API integration where the provider allows it.
Yes. We add registration expiry as a tracked date on each vehicle, and Odoo creates activities or emails for the responsible person ahead of the deadline, for example 30 and 7 days before.
Fines can be recorded against the vehicle and the driver assigned on that date. Deducting them from salary is a payroll and HR policy decision, and any deduction must follow UAE Labour Law, so we set this up with your HR team.
Fleet tracks vehicles and costs, but rental companies also need bookings, rental agreements and deposits. For that, Fleet is usually combined with Odoo Rental or a specialized setup, as described on our car rental ERP page.
